March 2025 Newsletter

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are really proud of the way your little ones have settled back into preschool life after the half term break.

Let’s look forward to some lighter, longer days and Springtime weather.

Extra sessions

You you will have now received our exciting newsletter about our positive financial update which will benefit all of you who are eligible in receiving fully funded free childcare from April 2025. We would appreciate your help in requesting any extra hours as soon as possible because spaces at both pre-schools are currently becoming very popular and therefore very limited.

Also, we are currently having many enquiries for September 2024 so if your child is staying we would like to give you priority over any extra hours that you may require. If you are looking to increase your child’s hours please speak to Christine or Vicky so that we can check availability.

Fees

Fees from April 2025

Early Education Funded 2 year old Children - 15 hours fully funded free childcare per week if eligible

Early Education Funded 3 and 4 year old Children - 15 hours universal fully funded free childcare for all children aged 3 and 4. Additional 15 hours funded free entitlement for working families if eligible.

Non Funded Children / Extra sessions above funded hours - £25.00 per half day session £50.00 whole day session (There will be a graduated increase to this fee from September for all children who do not receive funding)

Curiosity and Wonder – Come and Visit us

We would like to offer you all the opportunity to come into the Preschool again and to spend some time with your child and their Key Person.

This will enable you to chat with your child’s Key Person and to work together with them to ensure that your child feels known, understood, cared about, and safe within our setting.

As a staff team, we continuously reflect on the learning environment that our Pre-School offers to your little ones and we now continue on a journey to make it the absolute best that it can be.

We want your children to be safe, happy, and to learn through play whilst having fun. We want them to play and learn daily in both the inside and outside environments.

We are organising the visits by appointment, one adult per session (other family members are very welcome to make appointments on different days).

Appointments will be from 9am to 9.45am Tuesdays to Fridays.

You will be able to come in with your child at the beginning of the session and to stay until we finish Circle Time.

Please email or phone (07946 343281) Christine so that we can make an appointment for you to visit.

We know that the children will love you all to visit.

Spare clothing

Please can we ask that you ensure that your child comes to Preschool with spare clothing in their bag.

Whilst we have some spare clothing, it is limited and some children become distressed if we try to change them into unfamiliar clothes.

Children sometimes have toileting accidents or get muddy during enjoyable outside play so this would be a great help to us.

Bring a snack to preschool

Starting in April 2025 after the Easter holidays we would appreciate your support in providing your child with a healthy snack each day when they come to Preschool. If your child stays for lunch this can be placed in their lunch box or provided separately and labelled with their name.

Healthy Snack Examples

A piece of fruit (chopped or peeled if necessary)

Raisins

Breadsticks

Dried Cereal in a pot

Chopped Cheese

No sugary items please.

Our home from home

We are very passionate about our cosy, homely provision and as a staff team we pride ourselves on offering our wonderful families a natural, authentic, safe, traditional preschool environment. Therefore, unlike many other preschool settings, we feel that in the current climate there is often an over reliance on modern technology to record and observe children and this can take us away from the joy of playing, interacting and being with our children.

We continue to record your children’s learning journey with us using photographs and ‘Wow Moments’ and you will receive a precious keepsake of memories as your child takes their steps into ‘big school’.

Our door is always open for any worries so please just ask for help if you need to.

Thank you,

Kind Regards

Vicky and The View Preschool Team
